Copious Fashions, Fall 2015
The ”E” project has been such an amazing project for me! Meeting all the wonderful, driven, and hardworking entrepreneurs that are out there has been such a blessing. Now it’s time to step it up a notch, so to speak ;). Featuring two interviews twice a month is just not enough anymore at this point. I have decided to add a “Highlight Entrepreneur” of the week, featuring people that are doing what they love, and just kicking ass while doing it! This week I am featuring past interviewee Carissa McCaig of Copious Fashions, and photography done by the talented Kaja Tirrul of KajaPhoto.
Copious Fashions, Fall 2015
With Fall officially arriving as of September 23, 2015 we can now accept that bikinis, miniskirts, and any other forms of scantly outfits can now be put to rest, well until next year lol. Some of my favourite pieces to wear in fall includes anything leather (which I think should be worn all year round ;)), plaid, quilted textures (also known as the infamous Chanel BF bag), oh and fur! What girl doesn’t love fur! I know Carrie Bradshaw would approve :). Lucky enough Designer Carissa McCaig found her way into my never-ending Pandora ’s Box of a mind and created all of my favourite things and incorporated them by using subtle touches to each piece, just using enough to make you go gaga, get it? Lady gaga haha ok I’m done with my corny jokes lol.
Back to serious business, fashion! The new Fall 2015 collection by Copious Fashions was inspired by; The Canadian Woman. Carissa and her longtime friend Kaja Tirrul of Kajaphoto collectively wanted to showcase how the Canadian women can look fabulous during the cold months. Here is a quote speaking about how they both describe the collection. “She is resilient, ever-adaptable, and finds a way to look fabulous even during the coldest months. We both envisioned a log cabin for this Canadian woman, where she could spend the cold days inside, keeping warm simply within her own company.” The location (Carp, ON) tied everything together for the collection, and the photos were phenomenal to say the least. Below are a few of the amazing pieces from her Fall 2015 collection.
Who doesn’t love a well-designed crop top! This two piece draws you into her cozy cabin and makes you want to be just as chic as her. The JADA crop was paired perfectly with the OLIVIA plaid skirt; this is a look I would definitely wear out on the town with my girls.
Overall, this collection was creative, inspiring, and everything the Canadian woman embodies! To see the full collection go to www.copiousfashions.com
Kaja Tirrul shared a special message about her journey with Carissa: “We started out as roommates ten years ago, and here we are now! Two people, one creative brain. This shoot being an example of how we begin with a mutual vision, and then see it through. Each season is a new goal, a new obsession”.
